Tata Motors starts bookings for Altroz DCA: Details here

Tata Motors on Wednesday said it has commenced bookings for the Altroz DCA, the dual-clutch automatic version of the premium hatchback. The bookings for Altroz DCA can be done at all authorised dealerships of the company with an amount of Rs 21,000 and deliveries for the same will start from mid-March, the auto major said in a statement. The new version will be available in top three variants of Altroz -- XT, XZ and XZ+ of 1.2 litre petrol engine. "Taking our success story further, we wanted to delight our customers by introducing a world-class automatic transmission to the line-up in the form of the Altroz DCA," Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles'' Vice President for Sales, Marketing and Customer Care, Rajan Amba noted. Altroz DCA comes with a wet clutch transmission, which ensures the best performance for all driving conditions. Altroz is the company''s first vehicle which is based on the ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) architecture.

Indian-owned carmaker Jaguar Land Rover on Tuesday said it was pausing deliveries of its vehicles to Russia, as an increasing number of companies react to the nation’s invasion of Ukraine. “The current global context… presents us with trading challenges so we are pausing the delivery of vehicles into the Russian market,” a statement from Britain-based JLR, owned by India’s Tata Motors, said. Leading carmakers Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Toyota and Honda witnessed a drop in vehicle dispatches to dealers last month as the global semiconductor shortage continued to impact production. Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Skoda and MG Motor, on the other hand, reported an increase in wholesales in February as compared to the same month last year. The country''s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said its domestic sales slipped 8.46 per cent to 1,40,035 units as against 1,52,983 units in February 2021. "The shortage of electronic components had a minor impact on the production of vehicles which are primarily sold in the domestic market. The company took all possible measures to minimise the impact," the auto major noted. Sales of the company''s mini cars, comprising Alto and S-Presso, fell 17.81 per cent to 19,691 units last month as compared to 23,959 in the same month last year. Similarly, dispatch of compact models like Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno and Dzire dipped 3.38
