Axactor Holds Steady on Q1 Revenues Despite Pullback in Investment Activity

Axactor managed to maintain gross revenue at around €75 million during the first quarter, matching figures from the same period last year. This steadiness comes even as the company dialed back investment activities and disposed of portfolios in the latter part of 2025.
However, the company's total revenue hit €53 million, falling short of analysts' consensus, which eyed approximately €65 million. The dip hints at some pressure beneath the surface despite top-line stability.
Operational performance showed some cracks--adjusted EBITDA dropped to €45 million, while EBITDA landed at €22 million, both trailing last year's Q1 marks. This downward move raises questions about margin pressures or cost increases.
On a brighter note, Axactor's 3PC segment nudged upward, posting 5% revenue growth year-over-year. The contribution margin here also improved to 37%, up from 33% previously, signaling a healthier profitability within this business slice.
Capital deployment slowed, with the company investing €37 million during the quarter, a conservative figure compared to past levels. This restraint corresponds with the strategic shift seen in the recent portfolio sales.
Notably, after the quarter closed, Axactor secured a €100 million bond issuance. Paired with deals involving Fortress and Geveran, this financing move promises to reduce the company's funding costs substantially.
The firm anticipates that these refinanced funding arrangements will not only ease financial expenses but also expand its capacity for future investments. Coupled with expectations of strong collections performance, Axactor appears set to stabilize its financial footing.
Whether this balance between cautious investment and efficient capital management will translate into a smooth path ahead remains to be seen. The company foresees solid capacity to sustain shareholder returns, but the full impact on operational results will take shape in upcoming quarters.
