Unity Software Inc. (U) saw its shares climb sharply by 17% after unveiling second-quarter earnings that outpaced Wall Street's forecasts and revealing an upbeat outlook for the coming months.

The company reported an adjusted loss of just five cents per share, significantly narrower than the expected loss of 11 cents. Revenue came in at $546 million, marking a 24% increase year-over-year, and beating analyst predictions of about $515 million.

Stripping out segments like ironSource Ads and Supersonic publishing, Unity's strategic revenue surged 38% to reach $486 million. This growth highlighted the strength of Unity's core business, especially the uptake in their AI-driven offerings and advertising platforms.

CEO Matt Bromberg described the quarter as possibly the finest since the company went public, crediting a robust product pipeline and the performance of Unity Vector AI for delivering tangible value across stakeholders.

Looking ahead, Unity expects third-quarter revenue between $540 million and $550 million, with a midpoint forecast of $545 million that nudges above consensus estimates. The adjusted EBITDA guidance spans $185 million to $190 million, signaling a hefty 69% to 74% increase compared to last year.

The Grow Solutions segment posted a 35% revenue boost year-over-year, hitting $389 million thanks to strength in Unity Ads and Vector AI growth. Meanwhile, Create Solutions revenue lifted 2% to $158 million, as higher subscription sales offset slower cloud and hosting services.

Adjusted EBITDA for Q2 touched $160 million, representing a 29% margin up from 21% the year before. Free cash flow expanded impressively to $202 million, topping last year's $127 million figure, underlining operational efficiency improvements.

With such a standout quarter under its belt and confident guidance for upcoming periods, Unity's stock momentum is clearly reflecting renewed investor enthusiasm for its expanding software ecosystem.
