Hanmi Financial Earnings Call Transcript Summary of Q2 2026
Hanmi reported a solid Q2 2026 driven by loan production, deposit growth, disciplined expense control and strong credit metrics. Net income rose to $23.5 million ($0.79 diluted), net interest income was $63.9 million (NIM 3.36%, modestly impacted by an FHLB dividend policy change), and the efficiency ratio remained favorable at ~54%. Loan originations were $372 million (year-to-date originations up 11% vs H1 2025) with CRE still the largest category (61% of loans); C&I continues to be a growth focus (C&I now ~18% of loans, up materially year-over-year). Deposits increased 2.3% sequentially with noninterest-bearing deposits now ~31% of total and corporate Korea (USKC) deposits reached ~$1.2 billion (~17% of deposits). Asset quality is strong: NPLs 0.15% of loans, NPAs 0.12% of assets, minimal net charge-offs and ACL coverage of ~1.08% of loans. Capital returned to shareholders via $13.6 million in dividends and buybacks; tangible common equity per share was $27.04 (TCE ratio ~10.03%). Management guidance and priorities: expect low- to mid-single-digit loan growth for 2026, NIM to remain stable for the remainder of the year (assuming no Fed policy change), continued focus on growing core deposits (especially via USKC), selective investment in talent/technology while maintaining expense discipline, and preserving conservative underwriting and risk management.
