It invests in the public equity markets of India. The fund invests directly and also through derivatives such as India Access Products (IAPs) in the stocks of companies operating across diversified sectors. It invests in the stocks of large-cap companies. The fund also invests in Indian market securities through iShares BSE SENSEX Mauritius Company, a wholly owned subsidiary incorporated in Mauritius. It seeks to replicate the performance of the S&P BSE SENSEX Index, by employing representative sampling methodology. The fund was formerly known as iShares Asia Trust - iShares S&P BSE SENSEX India Index ETF. iShares Asia Trust - iShares Core S&P BSE SENSEX India Index ETF was formed on October 31, 2006 and is domiciled in Hong Kong.
