SAMSUNG Electronics Co. Ltd. has appointed a new head for its Philippine operations. In a statement on Wednesday, the South Korean electronics company announced that it has designated Chu Minsu as the new president of Samsung Electronics Philippines Corp. (SEPCO). Chu previously served as the president of Samsung Electronics New Zealand and has also taken on the role of business director of SEPCO''s mobile business from 2014 to 2018. "I am very pleased to return to Philippines which I have long considered as my second home. This country has immense potential with its dynamic economy and a large and young population," Chu was quoted as saying. "Even with the unprecedented global crisis, the country has remained resilient and has already shown signs of strong recovery, putting economic growth back on track," he continued. As the new head of local operations, Chu said he looks to increase the synergy between its mobile, visual display and digital appliances units to "reflect the company''s ongoing commitment to creating new and meaningful experiences for customers."
