South American hacking group Lapsus$ is claiming responsibility for another high-profile hack. On Thursday, Ubisoft said it underwent a “cyber security incident” last week that saw some of its games, systems and services temporarily disrupted. At the time, the company didn’t identify who may have been responsible for the incident, but just one day later, Lapsus$ began to seemingly take credit. The Verge After The Verge published a story on the incident, a Telegram channel allegedly run by the group posted a link to the article and a smirking face emoji, suggesting it was claiming responsibility for what had happened. It also said that it had not targeted user data in the breach. “Our IT teams are working with leading external experts to investigate the issue,” Ubisoft said Thursday. “We can confirm that all our games and services are functioning normally and that at this time there is no evidence any player personal information was accessed or exposed as a by-product of this incident.” Friday’s claim comes less than a week after the same group took credit for obtaining about 190GB of data from Samsung .

“Now is a pivotal point in Bitcoin’s evolution — we’re on the verge of mass adoption, and I think that I can make it happen faster,” said Samson Mow. Blockstream chief strategy officer Samson Mow has announced he will be leaving the blockchain firm after five years. In a Tuesday Twitter thread, Mow said he would continue to be a “#BlockstreamSpy” following his departure from the Canada-based firm where he had worked since April 2017. He said he would stay on as CEO of game development company Pixelmatic, a position in which more “attention is being demanded,” but planned to focus on “nation-state Bitcoin adoption” in the future. ”With everything happening at light speed in El Salvador, and more and more countries interested in adopting #Bitcoin, I found my time each day just no longer enough anymore,” said Mow. “So with @Blockstream in a very good place and well capitalized after a successful B round, it was the right time to move on. It also feels like now is a pivotal point in #Bitcoin’s evolution — we’re on the verge of mass adoption, and I think that I can make it happen faster.” Today is my last day with @Blockstream .
If you’re looking for a massive open-world game to play this weekend that isn’t Elden Ring , Horizon Forbidden West , Dying Light 2 or Cyberpunk 2077 , it might be worth checking out Assassin’s Creed Valhalla . The latest entry in Ubisoft’s long-running series is free to play right now on Xbox, PlayStation, PC, Stadia Pro and Amazon Luna. You’ll get access to the full game until February 28th. Players can take on the guise of a Viking raider named Eivor as they explore ninth-century versions of Norway and England. You can lead raids against fortresses and enemy territories, grow your own settlement and build out a version of Eivor that suits your preferred playstyle. The free weekend arrives ahead of a paid DLC called "Dawn of Ragnarok," which Ubisoft has described as the "most ambitious expansion" in the history of the franchise. That''ll arrive on March 10th. The trial doesn’t include AC Valhalla ’s expansions, but given that the main story alone can take around 60 hours or so to beat , it''s unlikely you''ll get that far by Monday anyway.

How to Win With Game Stocks

09:53pm, Thursday, 24'th Feb 2022 Kiplinger
In one of the most volatile episodes in stock market history, investors early last year took the shares of a company called GameStop ( GME ) on a wild ride that few would have expected for a business that''s mostly a brick-and-mortar antique, the gaming version of a chain of video stores. Its shares went on an adventure that echoed the characteristics of the video games on its shelves: fantasy, violence and a romantic quest for justice and vengeance. SEE MORE The 12 Best Tech Stocks to Buy for 2022 In real life, however, GameStop has had a lousy year, losing money once again. But the rest of the gaming sector has taken up the mantle. It''s booming, becoming the backbone of the metaverse , a three-dimensional online environment that is likely the "next big thing" in consumer technology. In 2020, partly because the pandemic kept Americans indoors, gaming revenues exceeded those of movies and sports events combined. Global gaming sales in 2021 are estimated at $178 billion and projected to rise to $269 billion by 2025.
