Volvo is beginning street tests of their wireless charging of the fully electric XC40 Recharge.
Volvo will put a wireless EV charging system through its paces in a new program. A small fleet of electric Volvo XC40 Recharge cars will be used as taxis in Gothenburg, Sweden in a three-year pilot.
The chargers will be able to provide 40 kilowatts, which is almost as much as some wired DC fast chargers.

Volvo Cars decided to halt sales of new cars in Russia. "Considering the potential risk related to trading in materials with Russia and sanctions introduced by the US and the EU, Volvo Cars will not supply automobiles to the Russian market until further notice," company’s spokesperson Ben Foulds said, cited by TT. According to Volvo Cars, Russia accounted for 1.3% of global sales.
