Shares of Quilter plc shot up 4.5% following the unveiling of its strongest quarterly asset inflows ever. The wealth management firm revealed core net flows hitting £3.1 billion during Q1 2026, an impressive 9% annualized growth based on opening assets under administration.

The Affluent segment particularly outperformed, pulling in £2.9 billion-50% higher than the predicted figure. The High Net Worth clientele also contributed more than anticipated. By the end of the quarter, total assets under administration neared £141.9 billion, nudging past consensus forecasts by 3%.

Both the Quilter channel and the independent financial adviser route saw gross flows climbing 22%. Net flow growth was even stronger, with increases of 22% and 24% respectively. The Quilter Platform, known for its scalability and profitability, powered much of the uplift seen within the Affluent division.

High Net Worth inflows totaled £944 million, beating the two-year average of roughly £750 million. Observers point to favorable market backdrops aiding tax planning and Quilter's competitive footing within the Affluent space as key drivers of this strength.

Meanwhile, productivity per Quilter Adviser rose noticeably to £3.9 million from last year's £3.4 million. Client retention held steady, sitting in the low 90% range. These numbers suggest a solid engagement with the firm's advisory services.

Assets managed within the WealthSelect portfolio service surged by 35% year-on-year, reaching a hefty £26 billion. This illustrates sustained client appetite for Quilter's tailored managed portfolios despite the market headwinds faced during the period.

In fact, market moves during the quarter dragged down assets under administration more than first expected. Still, the record inflows are set to underpin positive revisions to earnings estimates, highlighting the resilience of investor demand in a tricky environment.

In short, while volatility challenged the firm's asset base, the inflow numbers speak volumes about Quilter's ongoing appeal across wealth segments and the effectiveness of its platform business model.
