On the sectoral front, auto, metal, banking indices logged profit booking while power, IT and pharma sectors logged some buying sentiments from investors. BSE midcap and smallcap indices were higher 1% each.

Technical analysts see 15,800 as the next level to watch out for on the Nifty. Amid geopolitical tensions, impending state election results, US Federal Reserve meeting and rising commodity prices, analysts recommend using bounce-backs as sell on rise opportunities.
