Shares of Intel Corp. rose 0.3% in premarket trading Monday, after the semiconductor maker disclosed that its Mobileye self-driving unit has "confidentially" filed for an initial public offering of common stock. The company said the number of shares to be offered and the expected price range of the IPO have not yet been determined. The IPO will occur after the Securities and Exchange Commission completes its review process. The IPO of Mobileye, which Intel acquired in 2017 for $15.3 billion in cash, has been expected. The unit recorded revenue of $1.4 billion in 2021, up 43% from 2020 and about 1.8% of total Intel revenue of $79.0 billion. The Mobileye unit is looking to go public at a time that the Renaissance IPO ETF has tumbled 32.3% over the past three months while the S&P 500 has lost 7.6%. Visa, Mastercard halt operations in Russia

(UPDATED) NEW YORK, United States: Card payment giants Visa and Mastercard announced Saturday (Sunday in Manila) they will suspend operations in Russia, the latest major US firms to join the business freeze-out of Moscow over its invasion of Ukraine. "Noting the unprecedented nature of the current conflict and the uncertain economic environment," Mastercard said it had "decided to suspend our network services in Russia." Visa, for its part, said that "effective immediately" it would "work with its clients and partners within Russia to cease all Visa transactions over the coming days." Major corporations across a range of industries have halted business in Russia since its invasion began 10 days ago, including everything from US-based tech firms such as Intel and Airbnb to French luxury giants LVMH, Hermes and Chanel. Visa and Mastercard had already announced that they were complying with US and international sanctions imposed on Russia in the wake of its attack. "Our colleagues, our customers and our partners have been affected in ways that most of us could not imagine," Mastercard said, stating that its cards issued by Russian banks would no longer be supported by the company''s network.
