Wall Street dips ahead of Fed announcement
03:07pm, Wednesday, 15'th Dec 2021 Business Recorder
US stock indexes dipped on Wednesday ahead of a policy announcement by the Federal Reserve later in the day, as the latest readings on inflation solidified bets of a speedier wind-down of the central bank''s pandemic-era monetary stimulus. The US central bank is widely expected to signal a faster end to its bond-buying campaign and a quicker start to raising interest rates at its meeting. The statement will be released at 2 p.m. ET (1900 GMT), followed by Fed chief Jerome Powell''s news conference. Data on Tuesday showed producer prices increased more than expected in the 12 months through November, clocking its largest gain since 2010. Last week''s consumer prices data showed the biggest gain in almost four decades. A Reuters poll of economists is suggesting an interest-rate hike to 0.25-0.50% from near zero in the third quarter of next year, followed by another in the fourth quarter. Six of the 11 major indexes were higher in early trading, with defensive plays such as utilities and real estate taking the lead, signaling a risk-off environment.

Netflixs Selling Tampa Is Selling Sunset With Ten Times the Drama
10:05am, Wednesday, 15'th Dec 2021 The Daily Beast
Netflix Still havent gotten your fill of premium real estate with a side of premium drama? Dont worry, Selling Sunset fans Netflixs new spin-off, Selling Tampa, has just as much chaos and a lazy river to spare. Given how underwhelming our most recent visit with Oppenheim Real Estate turned out to be, Selling Tampa could not have arrived at a better time. The reality series, which debuts Wednesday with eight half-hour episodes, follows the comings and goings of Allure Realty, run by Sharelle Rosado. Her goal? To take over the luxury real estate market with her nascent firm, run entirely by women of color. Sharelle, wife of former NFL wide receiver Chad Ochocinco Johnson, founded Allure in 2019. While her management style is certainly a departure from the socially awkward Oppenheim brothers, Sharelles emphasis on tough love, combined with some colleagues belief that shes something of an absentee boss, is a recipe for frustration.
