Shares of Halliburton Co. rallied 1.4% in premarket trading Monday, after the oil services company swung to a fourth-quarter net profit and reported revenue that rose above forecasts and boosted its quarterly dividend by 167%. Net income was $824 million, or 92 cents a share, after a loss of $235 million, or 27 cents a share, in the year-ago period. Excluding nonrecurring items, such as tax adjustments, adjusted earnings per share rose to 36 cents from 28 cents, beating the FactSet consensus of 34 cents. Revenue grew 32.1% to $4.28 billion, above the FactSet consensus of $4.09 billion. Completion and production revenue rose 30.2% to $2.36 billion to beat the FactSet consensus of $2.25 billion, and drilling and evaluation revenue increased 34.6% to $1.92 billion to top expectations of $1.83 billion. The company declared a quarterly dividend of 12 cents a share, compared with the previous dividend paid of 4.5 cents a share. The new dividend is payable March 23 to shareholders of record on March 2.
