12:18am, Thursday, 10'th Feb 2022 Rappler
Samsung on Wednesday, February 9, unveiled two new flagship series at its annual Unpacked launch event: a range of Galaxy S22 phones and the Galaxy Tab S8 tablet line. Galaxy S22 series The Galaxy S22, consisting of the base S22 model, the S22+, and the S22 Ultra, comes with several iterative improvements and additions, including a more robust camera system, a brighter display, and a faster processor. All three models house a 4nm chipset under the hood, an upgrade over the 5nm on the S21 series. Apart from the performance bump, the new silicon allows the phones to last longer without the need for a bigger battery. Samsung says the new series could last up to two days on a charge. Thats how energy-efficient the new chipset supposedly is, considering how the battery capacities of the S22 of the S22+ are smaller than that of their S21 counterparts. The S22 Ultra has the same 5,000mAh pack as the S21 Ultra. Samsung likely shrunk the battery of this years flagships to fit a sleeker design.

Galaxy S22 Samsung launches their first event of the year with the introduction of the Galaxy S22 phones: The S22, S22 Plus, and the S22 Ultra that comes with an S Pen style making the future of the Note series a mystery. The Galaxy S22 Ultra features a 6.8-inch OLED with 120Hz refresh rate. The processor is Samsungs own 4nm Exynos, or Qualcomms Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in other parts of the world. Other stuff includes 5000mAh battery, IP68 resistance, 45W fast charging and 15W wireless charging, and of course 5G and WiFi 6. Galaxy S22 Ultra For the camera, youll be getting a 108MP main camera, along with telephoto cameras, a 12MP Ultrawide, and a 40MP front camera. You can now capture high-resolution night mode photos, which sounds pretty cool, but the first thing that came to mind, should I ever get to try this phone, is to go ghost hunting with it. Ha, high-res ghost pictures. Anyway, the most interesting part of the Ultra though, is the S Pen stylus. This was the main selling point of the Note series and now its been shifted to the S series.

Samsung Galaxy S22 hands-on: It''s more interesting on the inside
03:00pm, Wednesday, 09'th Feb 2022 Engadget
You’d be forgiven for thinking the newly announced Galaxy S22 looks a lot like last year’s phone. It does. But after being able to go hands-on with the S22 and S22+, it’s clear that, as with many things, it’s what’s inside that counts. And for 2022, Samsung has packed in some major upgrades for the S22’s display, performance and cameras that really separate it from last year’s device. Now, before we move onto the new tech, some of the S22’s design tweaks include an updated range of colors (black, white, green, and pink) and the use of a new material created from recycled fishnets –which Samsung employed to make the phone’s key bracket, with additional post-consumer recycled material also used in the S22’s speaker module and side buttons. Sam Rutherford/Engadget Elsewhere, both the S22 and S22+ feature flat–not rounded–displays made from Gorilla Glass Victus+ , a chassis constructed out of Samsung’s Armor Aluminum alloy, a 40-megapixel center-mounted selfie shooter and three rear cameras: a 50MP wide, 12MP ultra-wide and a 10MP telephoto with a 3x zoom.

Samsung’s Galaxy S22 Ultra replaces the Galaxy Note (and it’s about time)
03:00pm, Wednesday, 09'th Feb 2022 PCWorld
Diehard Note users may think otherwise, but Samsung made a good call in replacing the Galaxy Note with the Galaxy S22 Ultra, which is launching today along with the S22+ and S22 smartphones. Ten years is more than enough time to concede the inclusion of a stylus doesn’t necessitate a separate phone brand—and it’s also now debatable whether a stylus makes a modern phone any more useful. Don’t get me wrong, the Note was necessary in its day. When Samsung launched the original Galaxy Note a bit more than a decade ago, the phone was innovative beyond its included S Pen. Indeed, that first Note launched with a then-mammoth 5.3-inch display—a nice piece of real estate on which to draw. Over the next few years, the Note’s display expanded to 5.7 inches (the Note 7), and then to 6.3 inches (the Note 8), and then to 6.9 inches (the Note 20 Ultra). The “phablet” phone era was not only introduced, but also embodied, by the Note. And today all competitors follow suit with massive phones. But let’s consider what’s changed since the Note launched in 2011.
