A new vaccine against COVID-19 offers 100% protection against hospitalization, its makers said Wednesday, and they plan to seek regulatory approval.
Sanofi SA (NASDAQ: SNY ) and GlaxoSmithKline plc (NYSE: GSK ) are seeking regulatory approval for their COVID-19 vaccine to be used as a booster, as well as a standalone two-dose shot. In two separate trials, the companies said their adjuvanted protein-based vaccine demonstrated "universal ability" to boost neutralizing antibodies whether following mRNA or adenovirus shots, as well as 57.9% efficacy against any symptomatic COVID-19 disease.
