12:26am, Wednesday, 26'th Jan 2022 The Verge
Photo by Vjeran Pavic / The Verge Activision plans to release at least the next three Call of Duty games on both Sony and Microsoft consoles, Bloomberg reports . The new report should be a sigh of relief to fans who were worried Microsoft would immediately make new Call of Duty games Xbox exclusive if its blockbuster acquisition of Activision goes through . According to Bloomberg , Activision had already committed to bring the next few Call of Duty titles to PlayStation sometime before Microsofts acquisition was announced. Last week, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer said he told Sony that Microsoft wants to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation and that the company intends to honor existing agreements, so it seems like Activisions commitment with Sony will stay in place. Activist Investor Calls On Peloton To Fire CEO And Prep For Sale
02:18pm, Monday, 24'th Jan 2022 Zero Hedge
Activist Investor Calls On Peloton To Fire CEO And Prep For Sale Peloton Interactive, Inc. stock has been mired by bad luck lately, but shares were on the rebound, gaining as much as 3.5% premarket following a report that an activist investor wants the exercise-equipment maker (known for slapping an iPad on a stationary bike and charging thousands of dollars) to fire the chief executive officer and explore a sale. Blackwells Capital LLC sent a letter Monday to the company''s board to fire CEO John Foley and "put the company up for sale." The investment firm has less than a 5% stake in Peloton and believes the company is an attractive acquisition target for big tech . "Undoubtedly, Peloton and its customer base would be extremely attractive to any number of technology, streaming, metaverse and sportswear companies (e.g. Apple, Disney, Sony, Nike), who could extend their presence in the home, in health and wellness and on the screen through Peloton. Given the mess that Peloton has become as an independent company, we are convinced that one or more of these strategic acquirors could provide significantly more value, with substantially less risk, than Peloton is likely to generate for its shareholders on its own," the letter said.

"Headsets Are Simply Annoying": Playstation Inventor Says He "Can''t See The Point" Of VR And The Metaverse The inventor of the PlayStation - one of the best and most widely known gaming consoles - doesn''t think too much about VR or the metaverse. Ken Kutaragi, who is responsible for Sony''s popular console, says that VR and AR "divide" the real and virtual realms, rather than unifying them, according to a new interview with Bloomberg . Kutaragi, who is now 71 years old, told Bloomberg: Being in the real world is very important, but the metaverse is about making quasi-real in the virtual world, and I cant see the point of doing it. He continued: You would rather be a polished avatar instead of your real self? Thats essentially no different from anonymous messageboard sites. Kutaragi is now the chief executive officer of Ascent Robotics, which seeks to blend the real world with cyberspace. Headsets would isolate you from the real world, and I cant agree with that. Headsets are simply annoying, he told Bloomberg.
