Mumbai: Mid- and small-cap stocks sank deeper on Monday, extending recent losses, as retail investors cut their bets amid worsening global market sentiment and weaker earnings performance. Analysts are advising clients to stay away from shares of smaller companies in the wake of the jittery sentiment.The BSE SmallCap index fell 2.2% and MidCap index lost nearly 1% on Monday, while the Sensex declined 0.3%.
