According to a new report, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has emerged as the largest employer of women in India with over 1,78,357 women employees across its offices. According to the latest 2021 Burgundy Private Hurun India list of 500 most valuable companies, the company employs 5,06,908 employees, which is the highest in the country, with a value of Rs 13,09,488. The top 500 companies in the country employ over 6.9 million people with an average of 13,800 employees per company, according to the survey. Infosys has grabbed the second position in the list with 1,00,321 women employees out of its total of 2,59,619 employees. Infosys is followed by Wipro in the list with 72,000 female employees. New Delhi: IT major Wipro on Monday selected Oracle Cloud to digitise its air cargo process, as demand grows for rapid cargo transportation services in the country. The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) will power Wipro''s Cargo Reservations, Operations, Accounting and Management Information System (CROAMIS) to help organisations modernise at a faster pace and at lower costs. There has been significant change in the supply chain, particularly in key industries such as pharma and e-commerce, which need goods to be moved rapidly around the world. Benchmark indices snapped two days of losses and witnessed sharp gains as globally fears of a significant impact on economic recovery owing to Omicron variant receded. Dr Anthony Fauci, the top US infectious disease official, said that it does not look like Omicron has a ''great degree of severity.'' At the closing bell yesterday, the BSE Sensex stood higher by 887 points (up 1.6%). Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty closed higher by 264 points (up 1.6%). Power Grid Corp and ONGC were among the top gainers. Cipla and Asian Paints, on the other hand, were among the top losers . The BSE Mid Cap index and the BSE Small Cap index ended up by 1.3% and 1.1%, respectively. On the sectoral front, gains were largely seen in the metal sector, realty sector and banking sector. Shares of Torrent Power and Tanla Platforms hit their respective 52-week highs . At 8:10 am today, the SGX Nifty was trading up by 114 points, or 0.7% higher at 17,325 levels.
