Humana Inc. said Thursday it raised its dividend by 12.5%, while the stock''s new dividend yield remains just a little over half that of its health care peer group and the S&P 500. Humana''s stock was still inactive in premarket trading. The new quarterly dividend of 78.75 cents a share, up from 70 cents a share, will be payable on April 29 to shareholders of record on March 31. Based on Wednesday''s stock closing price of $428.77, the new annual dividend rate implies a dividend yield of 0.73%, compared with the yield for the SPDR Health Care Select Sector ETF of 1.43% and the implied yield for the S&P 500 of 1.42%. Humana''s stock has advanced 13.6% over the past 12 months, while the health care ETF has gained 12.0% and the S&P 500 has climbed 13.8%.
