Customers Bancorp Earnings Call Transcript Summary of Q3 2025
Customers Bancorp reported a strong Q3 2025 driven by deposit-led balance sheet growth, improved margins, disciplined loan growth and strengthened capital. Key financials: +$1.4B in deposits (record $6.4B noninterest-bearing; 31% of total deposits), +6% quarter-over-quarter loan growth (~$900M), NIM widened 19 bps to 3.46%, net interest income +14% to $202M (adjusted: +9% excluding a $10M accretion item), core EPS $2.20, ROA 1.25% and core ROE 15.5%. Management completed an oversubscribed common equity offering (net proceeds ~$163M) which improved CET1 to ~13% and tangible common equity to 8.4%. Efficiency improved (45.4%) despite continued investments, and management raised full-year 2025 guidance: deposits growth to 8–10% (from 5–9%), loan growth to 13–14% (from 8–11%) and NII growth to 13–15% (from 7–10%). Credit quality remains strong (NPAs 0.25% of assets; allowance 103 bps covering NPLs 534%), and the firm continues to scale its cubiX payments platform (large contribution to deposit growth and fee opportunity) while actively recruiting deposit-focused banking teams. Management emphasized continued focus on deposit transformation, risk management, AI-driven productivity initiatives and measured growth into 2026.
