Enterprise Financial Services Earnings Call Transcript Summary of Q1 2026
Enterprise Financial Services Corp delivered a solid Q1 2026: EPS of $1.30 (adjusted $1.31), net income $49M, ROA 1.16% and ROTCE 12.53%. Net interest income was stable at $166M and NIM expanded slightly to 4.28%. Loans dipped modestly due to timing of closings, a scheduled $100M paydown of low-income housing tax credit loans (at a 3.29% coupon) and a $25M SBA loan sale (with a $1.4M gain). Deposit balances experienced normal seasonality but deposit costs fell (cost of deposits 1.52%). Credit trends improved: net charge-offs fell to $4.4M, nonperforming assets decreased, and 4 of 7 previously troubled Southern California OREO properties are under contract (with the rest progressing). The allowance for credit losses increased modestly to 1.21% of loans (1.32% excluding government-guaranteed loans), including a qualitative reserve add for potential impacts from the Iran conflict. Management raised the quarterly dividend $0.01 to $0.34 and repurchased ~483k shares for ~$27M. Priorities for 2026 remain mid-single-digit balance sheet growth, continued deposit diversification and efficiency/technology improvements. Guidance/positioning: management expects NIM to remain in the low- to mid-4.2% range, continued NII growth as loan growth resumes, stable capital metrics (TCE ~9%), and continued opportunistic share repurchases while M&A remains low priority.
