Masco Earnings Call Transcript Summary of Q3 2025
Masco reported Q3 2025 results with net sales down 3% in local currency (2% excluding the Kichler divestiture), operating profit of $312 million and a 16.3% operating margin; GAAP-adjusted EPS was $0.97 for the quarter. Management lowered full-year adjusted EPS guidance to $3.90–$3.95 (from $3.90–$4.10) driven by weaker near-term demand, higher tariffs and inventory-related reserve adjustments. Key segment notes: Plumbing sales grew ~1–2% (driven by pricing and Delta Faucet strength in e-commerce and trade), while Decorative Architectural sales declined (DIY paint remains soft; PRO paint continues to grow). Tariffs are a major headwind — management now estimates ~$270 million of annualized incremental tariff cost before mitigation, with ~$150 million expected in‑year for 2025; they are pursuing mitigation via sourcing changes, supplier actions, cost reductions and pricing. Masco generated strong free cash flow, ended the quarter with ~$1.6 billion liquidity and gross debt / EBITDA ~2x, returned $188 million to shareholders in Q3 and now expects to deploy ~ $500 million in 2025 for buybacks or acquisitions (up from at least $450M). Management emphasized long-term structural strength in R&R markets, brand and product innovation (notably Delta water filtration and a Newport Brass relaunch), but cautioned near-term volatility and tariff uncertainty.
