Silicom Earnings Call Transcript Summary of Q1 2026
Silicom reported a strong first quarter 2026 with revenues of $19.1M, up 33% year-over-year and materially ahead of prior guidance. Management raised near-term visibility: Q2 revenue guidance of $20M–$21M (up to ~40% YoY at the high end) and full-year 2026 revenue guidance of $82M–$83M (~33% YoY). The company highlighted momentum from prior design wins that are now ramping (management says much of the current upside comes from wins in 2024–early 2025), and announced that it has already secured 4 design wins out of a 2026 target of 7–9 — including: an expansion with a global networking/security-as-a-service leader (annual revenue now expected ~$8M–$10M from that customer), an initial >$1M order from a Tier 1 cybersecurity customer with expected ramp to ~2x, a streaming provider initial order >$1M and expected ~$12M over 5 years (with upside to $25M–$30M if a custom adapter is adopted), and a Europe-based encryption customer ($3M/year FPGA SmartNIC deploying post-quantum cryptography). Management reiterated three venture-style growth initiatives (AI inference, post-quantum cryptography, and white-label switching) that are additive to the core business. Financially, gross margin remained ~30%, operating loss improved to $1.9M (from $2.4M a year ago), net loss narrowed to $1.5M (loss per share $0.25). Balance sheet is strong and liquid: management reported working capital and marketable securities of $109M (including $63M inventory and $63M cash/cash equivalents and high-rated marketable securities) and no debt. The company is intentionally building inventory to mitigate extended memory lead times and preserve delivery, and says it can pass most increased memory costs through to customers. Management expects meaningful inference-related revenue primarily in 2027 but sees initial progress in 2026.
