CBA’s Head of Australian Economics Gareth Aird says the company changed their forecast on when interest rates will rise due to comments made by the Reserve Bank Governor Philip Lowe. The Commonwealth Bank on Tuesday said it expects the Reserve Bank to raise interest rates the month after the federal election is expected, around June of this year. “He said that the bank is looking for a couple more CPI … before they decide to pull the rate high trigger,” Mr Aird told Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood. “We don’t think the Reserve Bank will wait to see two more reads on inflation.”
