Toymaker Hasbro Inc (NASDAQ:HAS) is highlighted today, after news from yesterday afternoon that the company promoted digital gaming chief Chris Cocks to CEO, effective Feb 25.

Hasbro Inc on Wednesday promoted the head of its digital gaming division as the toymaker''s next chief executive officer, following the death of Brian Goldner in October.

The incoming toy company chief and former Microsoft executive will serve as permanent replacement after Brian Goldner died in October.

Hasbro Inc. HAS said late Wednesday its board appointed Chris Cocks as chief executive and named him as a board member effective Feb. 25. Cocks currently serves as president and chief operating officer Hasbros Wizards of the Coast and Digital Gaming division, and replaces Brian Goldner, who died in October. Cocks has served in his current position in charge of the division that puts out games such as Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons, since leaving Microsoft Corp. MSFT Hasbro also appointed Eric Nyman as the companys president and chief operating officer effective Feb. 25. Hasbro shares slipped 0.3% after hours, following a 0.6% decline to close the regular session at $103.32. Shares are up 11% over the past 12 months, compared with a 26% gain in the S&P 500 index SPX.
