Reacting to continuing stock market woes and perhaps tech industry lobbyin, Trump backed off on tariffs for electronics late last night.
The Trump administration is carving out big tariff exemptions for the tech industry.
A long list of electronic products got a reprieve for now from at least some of the levies on China, which had been expected to take a toll on tech giants like Apple.
Apple Inc. got “the best news possible” overnight, according to an analyst, as the Trump administration exempted smartphones and other consumer electronics products from tariffs.
Electronics such as smartphones and laptops will be excluded from reciprocal tariffs, the Trump administration has said.
