Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) continues to double down on artificial intelligence, expanding its AI-driven Copilot technology across its Microsoft 365 suite, including popular apps like Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. These updates are part of the company’s "Copilot Wave 2" rollout, aiming to boost workplace productivity and efficiency.
Key features include using Copilot to draft PowerPoint presentations and prioritizing emails in Outlook. Microsoft also introduced Copilot Pages, a collaborative tool that allows teams to edit and manipulate data on a shared page.
The company is pushing its new agent builder, enabling businesses to create AI-powered assistants that can automate tasks. The agent builder simplifies internal processes, such as answering employee questions about healthcare benefits, by pulling data from company documents.
This AI expansion is part of Microsoft’s broader efforts to integrate AI into its product lineup, as it competes with major players like Google (NASDAQ:GOOG, GOOGL) and Salesforce (NYSE:CRM). According to Microsoft, the use of Copilot surged over 60% in the last quarter, with Vodafone alone buying 68,000 licenses to boost worker efficiency.
