Aib Group Earnings Call Transcript Summary of Q4 2025
AIB delivered a strong 2025 with profit after tax of >€2.1bn, RoTE of 25% and resilient net interest income of €3.75bn. The group returned to full private ownership after repaying ~€21bn to the State and proposed total distributions of €2.25bn (105% payout), including a €988m final dividend and a €1bn on-market buyback. Capital remained robust with CET1 of 16.2% supported by ~370bps organic capital generation and RWA optimisation. New lending grew modestly (c. +2%) with mortgages down 4% (direct mortgage share 46%; overall market share 30%), corporate new lending +8% and property lending +25%. AIB deployed ~€23bn of green/transition lending since 2019, with green mortgages 62% of new RoI mortgage lending and new green lending 43% of new lending in 2025. Operationally AIB continues heavy digital and AI investment (annual tech spend rising to c. €400m), reported 99.99% Level 1 availability, and plans a next-generation app launch in summer 2026. Guidance for 2026: NII circa €3.8bn, other income >€750m, costs +2%, cost of risk 20–30bps, loans growth ~5%, deposits +2–3%, and RoTE >20%. Management emphasised continued focus on customer relationships, ESG growth, balance-sheet optimisation (SRTs, IRB rollout) and delivering market-leading shareholder distributions.
