The Allstate Earnings Call Transcript Summary of Q1 2026
Allstate reported an excellent Q1 2026 with solid operating and capital results. Total revenue was $16.9 billion (up 3% y/y); investment income rose ~10% to $938 million. Property-Liability recorded a combined ratio of 82.0% (underlying 80.3%), driven by stronger underlying underwriting, lower catastrophe activity and favorable prior-year reserve development. Auto and homeowners policies in force increased ~2.5% (auto +2.6%, homeowners +2.5%), with market share gains in many states (auto share up in 29 states representing 57% of premiums; homeowners share gains in 41 states). Net income was $2.4 billion and adjusted net income $2.8 billion ($10.65 per diluted share); trailing 12-month net income ROE was ~48.4%. Investment portfolio book value grew ~24% year-over-year, and the firm increased capital allocated to investments. Allstate emphasized its multi‑pronged growth model (pricing + analytics + product/bundling + distribution + claims/expense management) and continued AI initiatives (ALLIE) to improve expense and service efficiency. Protection Services revenue grew ~7%, SquareTrade and other acquisitions expanded offerings. Capital deployment: $881 million returned to shareholders in Q1, completion of a $1.5B repurchase program, launch of a new $4B repurchase authorization (about $3.6B remaining, ~7% of shares outstanding).
