ICICI Bank Earnings Call Transcript Summary of Q1 2026
ICICI Bank reported a strong Q1 FY'26: profit before tax excluding treasury rose 11.4% YoY to INR 156.9 billion and profit after tax grew 15.5% YoY to INR 127.68 billion. Core operating profit increased 13.6% YoY. Domestic loans grew ~12% YoY (1.5% sequentially) while total deposits were up 12.8% YoY and flat sequentially; average CASA and deposit metrics showed healthy YoY/seq. trends. Asset quality remains healthy: net NPA 0.41%, PCR 75.3% and additional contingency provisions of INR 131 billion (~1% of advances). Total provisions in the quarter were INR 18.15 billion (0.53% of average advances); management says underlying credit cost is around 50 bps after adjusting seasonal KCC provisioning. Margins eased slightly: reported NIM 4.34% (small sequential decline) with the bank moving to a month-based convention to reduce seasonality in reported ratios. Liquidity and capitalization are strong (LCR ~128%, CET1 16.31%, total CAR 16.97%). Retail constitutes ~43% of portfolio (including non-fund limits); business banking continues to be a high-growth focus (>> system growth, ~29.7% YoY).
