Comstock Mining Earnings Call Transcript Summary of Q1 2026
Comstock (LODE) reported Q1 2026 results and outlined a transition from balance-sheet repair to operational execution and commercialization. The company completed an oversubscribed $57.5M equity financing (≈$53M net) and finished the capital build for its first industry-scale solar panel recycling facility in Silver Springs, leaving it with roughly $53M cash at quarter end after ~ $14M invested in the first facility. Most capex for Facility #1 is complete; commissioning and customer showcase visits are scheduled in late May and planned commercial operations in June/July with continuous operation expected in July. Management expects the plant to be profitable at ~20% utilization (facility) and the corporate entity profitable at ~50% utilization, with initial revenue already recognized from pilot operations and deferred revenue from panel collections. They invested $7.75M in SSOF and secured natural gas capacity (up to 300 MW) for the Silver Springs properties, which they plan to monetize. The company is in due diligence on a near-term sale of remaining mining assets expected to be announced in Q3, which would simplify the balance sheet, generate meaningful cash, and reduce annual cash spending by up to ~$1.5M. Planned additional 2026 spend includes ~$1.5M to upgrade downstream glass recovery and up to $10M (largely R&D) toward a 1 ton/day integrated metal-recovery pilot; procurement for a second facility will wait until Facility #1 is proven and scaling. Bioleum remains an investee with its own capital path; Comstock does not plan to fund it further currently. Management emphasized improving unit economics with higher silver prices and the strategic value of powered land at Sierra Springs for potential high-value monetization.
