Northeast Bancorp Earnings Call Transcript Summary of Q1 2026
Northeast Bank reported a strong Q1 FY2026 with net income of $22.5M, diluted EPS of $2.67, NIM of 4.59%, ROE 17.6% and tangible book value just under $60. Loan activity was robust: $153M of purchased loans (7 transactions) and $134M of originations, though average balances were down due to late‑quarter activity and elevated payoffs. Management says the purchase pipeline is the largest seen in some time, driven by M&A and balance-sheet repositioning, and the origination pipeline is also strong. SBA volume was temporarily reduced by recent SBA rule changes and the government shutdown; gains on SBA sales fell to $4.2M (from $8.2M prior quarter), a $4.1M decrease that management said reduced EPS by about $0.34. Asset quality remains solid, allowance coverage decreased modestly due to mix and timing, and provision was a small credit of $0.44M. Capital is strong (Tier 1 leverage 12.21%). Management emphasized discipline on credit and investment in people/technology. CFO Richard Cohen will depart after the quarter and Santino Delmolino (Controller) will step up.
