Nexgel Earnings Call Transcript Summary of Q1 2026
NEXGEL reported first quarter 2026 revenue of $2.65M, roughly flat year-over-year, with declines in the Silly George consumer line partially offset by growth in contract manufacturing and the MEDAGEL/STADA products. Cash and restricted cash were $2.1M at March 31, 2026 and about $1.8M at the time of the call. The company closed the BioNX acquisition in mid‑April, financed with $13.8M of total commitments (including $5M convertible note to Celularity) and a $5.5M strategic investment led by Sequence LifeScience. Sequence executives joined the board. BioNX brings six commercial regenerative biomaterial products sold in ~500 U.S. hospitals and several 510(k) device programs; management expects the acquisition to roughly triple pro forma annual revenue to ~$35M and be immediately accretive to profitability. The company is ramping the BioNX commercial effort (salesforce re-engagement began mid‑May), appointed a VP of Sales for BioNX Surgical, and hired a new CFO, Ian Blackman, to lead integration and scaling. Management said they are conservative on growth assumptions for legacy consumer lines but are seeing early recovery in April. Normalized incremental operating expenses for the BioNX integration and commercialization were estimated at about $500K per month (salaries, marketing, commissions). The company expects to begin recognizing acquisition revenue for roughly half of Q2 and plans to provide more detailed integration and Q2 results in August.
