Orkla ASA Earnings Call Transcript Summary of Q1 2026
Orkla reported a solid first quarter with organic growth of 4.9% and underlying EBIT adjusted growth of 3%. Adjusted EPS increased 4% to NOK 1.75. Performance was broad-based: Jotun delivered particularly strong underlying EBIT growth (~16% for the quarter), Orkla Snacks and Orkla Food Ingredients also contributed positively, while Orkla Health underperformed (weak volumes, margin pressure and announced closure of three factories) and is expected to be a challenging year. Reported revenue rose modestly to NOK 17.4 billion; reported results were impacted by negative currency effects and lower contribution from Orkla Real Estate. Cash flow from operations was NOK 1.1 billion, and Orkla executed NOK 1.0 billion of share buybacks in the quarter. Net debt was NOK 13.6 billion (≈1x EBITDA), leaving the company with a strong balance sheet and flexibility for value-accretive actions. Management flagged upward pressure on energy, freight and packaging costs (portfolio- and region-specific) related to the Middle East conflict but said they do not currently expect inflationary effects on the scale of post-pandemic inflation. The company remains on track relative to its 3-year financial targets, with margins within target range and ROCE at 12.4%.
