Timken Company (The) Earnings Call Transcript Summary of Q1 2026
Timken reported a strong start to 2026 with Q1 total revenue of $1.23 billion (up 8% YoY) and adjusted EPS of $1.67 (nearly +20% YoY). Organic revenue rose ~4.3% (driven by pricing and Industrial Motion volume), adjusted EBITDA margin expanded to 18.8%, and free cash flow was slightly positive in a seasonally light quarter. Management raised full-year guidance: total sales now expected +4% to +6% (organic ~+3% midpoint), and adjusted EPS raised to $5.75–$6.25 (midpoint +$0.25). Net leverage remains healthy at ~2.1x. Strategic priorities are accelerating under the company-wide 80/20 program: Timken announced the sale of its Belts business to Gates (expected to close in Q3) and closed the Bijur Delimon acquisition to scale its automated lubrication systems platform to ~ $400M, both intended to simplify the portfolio and improve Industrial Motion margins. Order book expanded sequentially and YoY, led by strength in off-highway, aerospace, rail and wind, with regional strength in the Americas, EMEA, and India (China softer). Management expects modest near-term inflationary pressure (a $0.10 / share placeholder in guidance) but is actively executing price actions and operational savings. Investor Day on May 20 will present more details on 80/20, portfolio strategy, financial targets and the multiyear roadmap.
