Tomtom NV Earnings Call Transcript Summary of Q1 2026
TomTom reported Q1 2026 revenue of EUR 129m, down 8% year-on-year, in line with prior guidance reflecting expected transitional declines. Location Technology revenue was EUR 114m (down 6% YoY; marginally up on a constant currency basis), Automotive revenue was EUR 76m (IFRS) and Enterprise EUR 38m. Consumer revenue continued to shrink to EUR 15m. Profitability improved: gross margin rose to 90% and operating result increased to EUR 14m (11% operating margin vs. 4% a year ago) due to higher-margin revenue mix, lower operating expenses (organizational realignment) and increased capitalization of Lane Model Maps R&D. Free cash flow improved to a positive EUR 1m for the quarter excluding restructuring; cash on hand ~EUR 248m with no debt. The company continued a share buyback (EUR 11m of the announced EUR 15m completed). Management reiterated full-year 2026 guidance: group revenue EUR 495m–555m, Location Technology EUR 435m–485m, operating margin around 3%, and expected negative free cash flow as they invest in Lane Model Maps. Strategically, TomTom emphasized the Lane Model Maps as a differentiator for higher levels of automation, progress on automated, more scalable map production (Europe and North America coverage targeted by year-end), and new Enterprise partnerships (AECOM, Kapsch, LOCUS) to expand traffic and analytics use cases. Leadership transition: Mike Schoofs appointed CEO, with Harold Goddijn moving to the Supervisory Board.
