Marriott International Inc. disclosed Tuesday that it had 120,000 employees at the end of 2021, including 97,000 employees in the U.S., according to the hotel operators 10-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. That''s down 0.8% from 121,000 employees at the end of 2020, which included 98,000 U.S. employees. The hotel operator''s workforce has now declined 31.0% in two years, from 174,000 in pre-pandemic 2019. The company also reported earlier Tuesday 2021 revenue of $13.86 billion, up 31.1% from 2020 but down 33.9% from 2019. The stock surged 5.0% in afternoon trading toward a record close. NEW YORK: Wall Street stocks bounced early Tuesday after Russia signaled a more conciliatory posture in the Ukraine crisis while investors shrugged off evidence of intensifying US inflation. Russia said it was pulling back some of its forces near the Ukrainian border to their bases, in what could be the first major step towards de-escalation after weeks of tensions with the West. Meanwhile, the Labor Department reported its producer price index rose one percent, seasonally adjusted, in January, twice what analysts had forecast.
