Adeia Earnings Call Transcript Summary of Q1 2026
Adeia reported a strong start to 2026: Q1 revenue was $104.8M with adjusted EBITDA of $62.3M (60% margin) and operating cash flow of $58.5M. Management closed eight license agreements in the quarter, including multiyear deals with AMD (semiconductor/hybrid bonding) and Microsoft (media), and added L'Oréal in e-commerce. The company completed five small tuck-in IP acquisitions, expanded its patent estate to ~13,750 assets, and continues to invest in R&D and targeted M&A. Adeia reduced net debt to below $400M (term loan $398.6M), repurchased ~$10M of stock (446k shares), paid a $0.05/share dividend and declared another $0.05/share dividend, and received an S&P upgrade to BB. Management reiterated full-year 2026 revenue guidance of $395M–$435M, expects an adjusted EBITDA margin of ~55% for the year, operating expenses of $184M–$192M, interest expense $34M–$36M, and a ~21% non-GAAP tax rate. Risks/notes: recurring revenue dipped sequentially to $66.3M due to subscriber declines and timing of certain license revenue (SanDisk/Kioxia), DISH renewal remains unresolved and may lead to litigation, and AMD included a retroactive component recognized in Q1. CEO Paul Davis announced his intention to step down later this year (transition planned through appointment of a successor).
