HUYA reported solid Q1 2026 results with total net revenues of RMB 1.73 billion, up 15% year-over-year. Growth was driven by a 69% year-over-year increase in game-related services, advertising and other revenues (RMB 627 million), which now represent a record 36% of total revenues. Live streaming revenues were RMB 1.1 billion. The company is accelerating its shift from a pure live-streaming platform to a full-service game services platform—expanding game publishing (notably Goose Goose Duck mobile), in-game item sales, advertising solutions and tournament operations. Goose Goose Duck mobile launched strongly (top of iOS free charts, progressing monetization, new content modes and a planned WeChat mini-game launch this summer). HUYA is integrating AI across four areas (live streaming content, game tools, IP-based companionship and game production) to improve engagement and product offerings without replacing top human streamers. Financially, gross margin expanded to 14.6% (from 12.5% YoY) driven by higher-margin game-related revenues; Q1 non-GAAP net income was RMB 21 million. Operating loss narrowed and non-GAAP operating loss improved significantly. Cash and equivalents were RMB 3.46 billion as of quarter-end. Management expects further margin improvement and operating leverage as higher-margin businesses scale, with visibility of stronger margin improvement in H2 2026.
