Photronics Earnings Call Transcript Summary of Q2 2026
Photronics reported fiscal Q2 revenue of $210M, essentially flat year-over-year, with IC revenue down 5% to $148M and FPD (display) revenue up 13% to $62M. Near-term softness in IC mask demand was driven by delayed design releases caused by elevated fab utilization, memory supply/price pressures, and geopolitical uncertainty; the expected post–Chinese New Year seasonal recovery was weaker and longer than normal. Management reiterated a positive medium- and long-term outlook driven by strong AI-related demand for leading-edge memory and logic chips, and emphasized strategic investments to capture that opportunity: expansions in Korea (8nm and below capability) and Allen, Texas (qualification masks now, initial revenue targeted late fiscal 2026 and more meaningful contribution in 2027). Fiscal 2026 CapEx guidance remains $330M to support these expansions and end-of-life tool upgrades. Q3 revenue is guided to $207M–$215M, operating margin 18%–20% and non-GAAP diluted EPS $0.39–$0.45. Cash and short-term investments remain strong at $638M (including JV balances). Management noted limited near-term margin levers due to a largely fixed-cost structure and emphasized that product mix and utilization will drive profitability as new, higher-ASP high-end masks ramp.
