RELX Earnings Call Transcript Summary of Q4 2025
RELX reported strong 2025 results with underlying revenue growth of 7%, underlying adjusted operating profit growth of 9% and adjusted EPS up 10% at constant currency. All four divisions (Risk, STM, Legal, Exhibitions) delivered positive momentum with operating-profit growth outpacing revenue in each area. Key drivers: Risk continues to scale AI-enabled machine-to-machine analytics (90%+ of divisional revenue machine-to-machine); Legal and STM are benefiting from AI-enabled, content‑centric products (Lexis+ AI, Protege, LeapSpace) and strong new sales; Exhibitions delivered improved margins and digital monetization. Group adjusted operating margin improved ~90 bps to 34.8%, cash conversion was 99%, EBITDA > GBP 3.8bn and free cash flow > GBP 2.3bn. Capital allocation: GBP 270m of acquisitions (notably IDVerse), dividend +7% to 67.5p, completion of GBP 1.5bn buyback in 2025 and announcement of GBP 2.25bn buyback for 2026 (GBP 250m already deployed). Net debt / EBITDA (including pensions) ended at c.2.0x (lower end of target range). Management reiterates strategy: leverage uniquely comprehensive, continually updated content/data plus AI (model-agnostic) to embed higher-value analytics and decision tools, keep cost growth below revenue growth, prioritize organic development while using selective M&A, and expect another year of strong underlying growth with profit growth exceeding revenue growth.
