Strattec Security Earnings Call Transcript Summary of Q1 2026
Strattec reported a solid first quarter of fiscal 2026 with revenue up nearly 10% and strong margin expansion: gross margin rose 370 basis points to 17.3% and adjusted EBITDA margin expanded 310 basis points to 10.2%. Improvements were driven by higher sales, pricing actions, tooling contributions, restructuring savings and cost reductions. The company generated $11.3 million of operating cash flow and finished the quarter with roughly $90 million of cash and a refreshed $40 million revolver (maturity extended to Oct 2028). Management is executing a multi-year transformation focused on automation, cost structure optimization (including additional restructuring in Mexico), portfolio and footprint rationalization (sale-leaseback of Milwaukee facility, consolidation of the test lab to Auburn Hills, relocation of corporate offices), and selective M&A exploration. Near-term risks include supply disruptions from an aluminum supplier fire and semiconductor trade restrictions that could temporarily reduce OEM production; management plans to build finished-goods inventory and remain flexible on cost alignment. CapEx is expected to rise versus recent levels as modernization continues (full-year capex budget ~ $12.5M, ~2% of sales), but automation investments are described as relatively low-cost with quick paybacks (often <1 year). Long-term margin target remains in the low‑teens EBITDA range.
