TransAct Technologies Earnings Call Transcript Summary of Q1 2026
TransAct reported a solid start to FY2026 with Q1 net sales of $14.4M, up 10% YoY, and adjusted EBITDA of $1.4M. The company is prioritizing growth in its Foodservice Technology (FST) vertical by monetizing owned software and expanding recurring revenue: software revenue rose 23% YoY and ARR (recurring FST revenue) was $3.3M in the quarter. The installed base increased to ~19,959 online terminals after selling 1,370 BOHA! terminals, and management reiterated a land-and-expand go-to-market approach. The software platform port (to a cloud-hosted platform) is ahead of prior schedule and expected to go live in late Q2 / early Q3 2026, which management expects will accelerate software monetization and new capabilities (e.g., an app-store model). Casino & gaming sales were strong at $8.3M (up 24% YoY) and remain an important, cash-generative but lumpy segment. Labels sales grew 26% YoY and remain margin-accretive and stickiness-enhancing. Management reaffirmed 2026 net sales guidance of $55M–$57M and raised the adjusted EBITDA target to $1.0M–$1.75M. The balance sheet is healthy with $18.8M cash and $3M drawn on the credit facility. Leadership changes: longtime CFO Steve DeMartino announced retirement but will support through year-end. Key near-term investor milestones to watch: quarterly disclosure of ARR/recurring revenue metrics, progress and adoption following the software platform go-live, ARPU trends as hardware customers convert to subscriptions, and continued casino/gaming backlog performance.
