Univest reported a strong start to 2026 with Q1 net income of $27.1 million ($0.96/share), a 24.7% YoY EPS increase, and improved ROAA of 1.33%. Net interest margin expanded (reported NIM +23 bps to 3.33%; core NIM 3.44%), driving updated NII growth guidance of +5% to +7% for the year. Credit quality remains healthy (nonperforming loans ~0.25%, ACL 1.28% of loans); provision for credit losses was modest at $1.3 million. Noninterest income rose ~7.5% (11% ex-BOLI) driven by investment advisory, insurance and fee income. Noninterest expense increased 6.8% partly due to restructuring and higher medical claims; excluding those items expense growth is in-line with prior guidance. Management continues active capital return: a 4.5% dividend increase to $0.23/share and $12M+ of buybacks in the quarter (351,138 shares). Capital strategy targets a CET1 near ~11.2% and management intends to continue buybacks while remaining opportunistic on M&A. Liquidity showed seasonal drawdown; deposit costs have mostly stabilized and ~30% of the loan book is floating rate. Loan pipeline is solid heading into Q2, with competitive pressure on CRE but favorable margins in construction lending. 2026 outlook reiterated: loan growth ~2–3%, provisions $11–13M, noninterest expense growth ~6–8% (3–5% excluding BOLI), and an effective tax rate of 20–21%.
