VTEX Earnings Call Transcript Summary of Q1 2026
VTEX reported Q1 2026 results broadly in line with guidance, while profitability and cash generation materially improved. GMV was $5.1 billion (up 17% in USD, 7% FX-neutral). Subscription revenue was $60.0 million (up 14% in USD, 4% FX-neutral). Non-GAAP subscription gross margin expanded to 81.5% and total gross margin to 80.0%. Non-GAAP income from operations doubled year-over-year to $10.6 million (17.4% operating margin) and non-GAAP net income rose 51% to $8.1 million. Free cash flow doubled to $13.3 million (21.9% margin). Management repurchased $9.7 million of Class A shares in Q1 under a $50 million program.
Management reiterated a strategic focus on four growth levers: global expansion (U.S. and Europe momentum), B2B, ads (retail media) and AI. They introduced an AI-native product suite centered on the VTEX AI Workspace and agents for catalog, promotions, search and CX, claiming early customer wins and automation benefits (e.g., 91% automation in post-sales interactions for some use cases). Early commercial adoption is limited to early adopters and management says AI monetization approaches are still being developed, but they expect AI to accelerate pipeline and long-term sales.
Near-term growth has moderated—particularly in Brazil—due to macro headwinds (high rates) and promotional marketplace behavior; Q2 subscription revenue guidance is low- to mid-single-digit FX-neutral growth and full-year subscription revenue guidance was lowered to mid-single-digits FX-neutral. Management expects to maintain strong profitability (non-GAAP operating margin and free cash flow margin in the low-20s for the full year) while investing in R&D and AI. They emphasized disciplined expense management, structural margin gains from AI automation, and a long-term conviction in their AI-native, multi-product positioning.
