AAON Earnings Call Transcript Summary of Q1 2026
AAON delivered a strong Q1 2026 with record sales of $496.9M (up 54% YoY), 37% EPS growth, and backlog of $2.1B (more than double YoY). Both brands contributed: Basics (data-center focused) revenue grew ~72% and booked strongly (book-to-bill >2), driving record basics backlog and continued market-share gains; AAON branded unitary products grew ~42% with improved production throughput and share gains in transactional business. Gross margin was 25.1% (down 170 bps YoY) due to temporary factors: increased outsourcing to accelerate volume, tariff- and inflation-related costs, and ramp/absorption impacts from new Memphis capacity. SG&A leverage improved (13.7% of sales) and non-GAAP adjusted EBITDA rose to $78M. Cash flow from operations improved to +$34M; debt $425.2M and leverage ~1.71x. Management is intentionally prioritizing growth and customer delivery over near-term margin maximization, expecting margins to improve as internal capacity ramps and outsourcing declines. 2026 guidance: sales growth 40–45%, gross margin 27–28%, SG&A 14–15% of sales, and D&A $95–100M. Management highlighted ongoing investments in people, processes and capacity (memphis/Longview/Redmond) to sustain higher growth and margin expansion over time.
